New Challenges for Printing Enterprises to Produce Packaging Complying with Food Regulations
For packaging and printing, the health of consumers always comes first. Food must not be contaminated by the odor and chemical composition of packaging materials. Food packaging not only needs to induce people's appetite, but also needs the attitude of production, that is, to ensure that packaging does not pose any health risks to consumers.
Secondly, any enterprises involved in the production of food regulations and standards need to ensure the safety of food packaging. This requires special attention to the interaction of photosensitive coatings, ink coatings, and consumable materials and additives. Enhancement of coating effect, hot or cold foil, storage and transportation will have an impact on packaging quality. The safety of packaging production needs to strengthen the relationship between food production enterprises and printing companies. Therefore, it is also a risk-free production.
More than 90 guests who participated in this project not only gained information on the use of packaging components associated with the implementation, but also learned a large number of relevant food regulations in European countries and printing machines and drying technologies supporting the standard printing of food regulations. During the practical application of Manollan in the printing center, the guests were shown how an exquisite chocolate box was printed with low transfer ink and paint, and its effect was enhanced by cold foil on-line.
The production of packaging conforming to food regulations and standards has brought special challenges to printing enterprises. Partners of Manollan and PrintCity in Praxis Dialog Practice Series 23, held in Ofenbach, described printing that meets food regulatory standards.
